Stéphanie Solinas’ “Le soleil ni la mort” is the result of research that the artist has been conducting for several years on the West Coast of the United States, investigating the human of tomorrow between science and belief. The book, published by delpire & co in 2022, combines her meeting with the directors of the American cryonics company Alcor with a sequence of photographs taken during a flight over San Francisco. This “reading room” for 4 people aims to offer an environment conducive to experiencing the book in its entirety, the intimate space of the hotel room becoming a time capsule, like a comfortable echo to Alcor’s thermos transporting bodies from one reality to another.
The book comes with its limited edition “Twilight”, available at the bookstore.
“The sun and death cannot be stared at” is a quote from François de La Rochefoucauld (1665).
