In an abandoned factory in a small town in Romania, over 100 selfmade chairs where left behind when the was factory closed in 2019. In all of that industrialised and liniar atmosphere, these objects brutal beauty stood out. A reinvented shape from one workstation to another, a personalised way of support and rest. Photographed the way they were found in their original setting, which no longer exists, the work chairs represent tailored, unique shapes. Made from raw materials, they’re a mix of aesthetic intervention and functional improvisation. They took shape from the specificities of each job or the passing of time, when the work process deformed them to what they are.
