Ville Moyenne

“Ville Moyenne contains photographs taken in Château-du-Loir between 2010 and 2016. I photograph the town when I visit my grandparents, who have lived there for over twenty years. The challenge for me is to find my place there and to define a form that allows me to make the link between the distance involved in documenting a territory that escapes me, and the proximity implied by the personal context in which I apprehend it. Attempts at objectivity are juxtaposed with family scenes. Ville Moyenne represents my commitment to a subjective documentary, without judgement but without compromise, which does not erase all traces of its author.”
