To winter there

To winter there is a visual narrative inspired by the expeditions of Louis Jolliet (1645-1700) across the North American continent, a territory he travelled throughout his life until he disappeared at sea. Nearly three hundred years later, in the absence of his lost journals, Charles-Frédérick Ouellet set out to follow in the footsteps of this forgotten figure, along the rivers that flow inland. His photographs reveal two territories located in opposite directions, one in the south of the United States, towards the mouth of the Mississippi, the other in the north of Quebec where the Labrador Sea imposes itself.
