Textes à lire à voix haute brings together texts by fifteen contemporary Brazilian authors who address the notions of care and privilege from a perspective of decolonial critique. Independent, political and poetic, the book brings together essays, poems, manifestos, theatre texts, performances and other hybrid literary forms, oral and/or written, translated for the first time from Portuguese into French. The poets, artists, thinkers and authors are distinguished by their productions engaged in transfeminist, anti-racist and decolonial struggles.

The collection is composed of texts selected by curators and researchers Abigail Campos Leal, Cintía Guedes and Diane Lima, all three of whom are involved in the development of decolonial and non-hetero-normative practices in contemporary art, academia and self-organized movements in Brazil.

The edition Brook presents, in a translation from Portuguese by aurore/a zachayus, Valentina D’Avenia, Luana Almeida and Léa Katharina Meier, includes an introduction by the curators, as well as an afterword and a glossary by the translators.

With texts by Ingrid Martins, Preto Téo, Monna Brutal, tatiana nascimento, Pacha Ana, Grace Passô, Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro, Lucas Veiga, Ricardo Aleixo, Miro Spinelli, muSa Michelle Mattiuzzi, Jota Mombaça, Rebeca Carapiá, Pêdra Costa and Elton Panamby
