Teen spirit

Teen Spirit by Belgian photographer Vincen Beeckman is an art project carried out in collaboration with teenagers in Charleroi. From the youth centre of La Broc to the mechanical workshop of the University of Work, via the medicaal-educational institute Le Phénix and the Decathlon basketball court, the city and its surroundings become a playground for experiencing friendship and heartbreak, feeling the thrill of adventure, dreaming without limits and overcoming failure.

The resulting publication, commissioned by BPS22 for its group exhibition of the same name and co-edited by IC Visual Lab, features texts by artist and writer Sunil Shah and curator Nancy Casielles.
