After a first issue devoted to George Maciunas, founder of the Fluxus movement, of which New York was the epicenter, Initiales magazine moves to the West Coast of the United States to draw up a portrait of the painter and pop / conceptual video artist John Baldessari.

A star artist and teacher at the prestigious CalArts school in Los Angeles, John Baldessari has trained generations of artists. He was also the subject of a major retrospective at the Tate Modern in 2009. With contributions from artists, writers, art critics and researchers, this second issue of Initiales examines, among other things, the genealogy of this cult artist of the Californian scene.
