Record 55

Daido Moriyama presents issue 55 of his ongoing Record series. Originally launched in 1972, Moriyama relaunched the project in 2006 and has regularly published his photographs in zine-style photo books.

This 55th issue, published in October 2023, features photographs taken mainly in the region around his home of Zushi, Yokosuka, Kamakura and Yokohama. Snapshots of people, whether individuals or groups, taken on the streets alternate with photographs of posters, textures and patterns formed by objects such as gutter covers, close-ups of animals and photographs of spaces – rooms, city corners, alleyways.
