Record 54

This issue marks the 54th edition of Daido Moriyama’s ongoing Record series. Following the first five issues published in 1972, Moriyama relaunched this series of photography books in 2006, offering a regular outlet for his artistic expression.

For this particular issue, Moriyama focused on locations in and around Tokyo, capturing snapshots of urban scenes, passers-by and tourists, as well as images of desolate-looking buildings serving as both subject and backdrop. He also explored metal structures and glimpses of local nightlife, while including some more personal images, such as a photo of Masahisa Fukase or a painting of souvenirs.
