Perspectives Low-Tech

The further we advance into an uncertain century, the more we realize the fragility of the technical systems that structure our lifestyles. Low-tech, generally contrasted with high-tech, questions our needs in a constrained world. Although not without its ambiguities, this dynamic movement could well help to reconstitute technical and convivial cultures, other ways of living and organizing ourselves. Whether it is overtaken by commercial and authoritarian logics, or whether it constitutes a lever for emancipation, the question raised by the low-tech movement is that of the technical paths to take to rebuild our societies on viable, fair and desirable foundations.
