After Siam’s Guy, the Thai erotic magazine that the artist reappropriated in a book, Tiane Doan Na Champassak revisits this time a number of issues of the iconic magazine Paris-Hollywood, launched in France in the 1940s. In the middle of its pages, the original magazine had the particularity of presenting images of pin-ups in relief or on tracing paper that the reader could undress. Using his vast arsenal of post-modern tools, Doan Na Champassak transforms the original content of these magazines with his own images, creating a hypnotic back-and-forth between then and now; clothed-nude; Bangkok-Paris; reflecting, in a unique way, the politics of the female body and its photographic representation over the past decades.
