Parallel Encyclopedia 1 (Reprint)

Originally conceived between 2004 and 2007, the book Parallel Encyclopedia #1 by Swiss artist Batia Suter brings together a remarkable montage of several hundred images taken from books and magazines of different sources : sciences, cultures, arts, philosophy, etc.

Through these appropriated photo montages, Suter’s work revolves as much around iconography as around the interpretation of the meaning of images through new associations between them. This first volume was followed by another equally successful book, presenting the second part of the work in 2018.
