Mémoires d'un chien

Through travels and prowling across the places that marked his childhood, Daido Moriyama tries to reclaim images of his own past and to relive forgotten emotions. This wandering – both through emblematic places from his past and through his own memory – has become a way of life for a photographer who voluntarily compares himself to a ‘stray dog.’

Bringing together the first volume of the artist’s autobiography, which was published in the 1980s, and a selection of photographs taken from Record – the personal magazine or photographic diary that Daido has been producing for years – this unique autobiographical work will (re)introduce Westerners to one of the most celebrated of contemporary Japanese photographers.
