Les vagues

Elise Toïdé’s work unfolds poetic and collaborative spaces. She focuses as much on the intimate as on the public, confronting it with emotions and memories that move it, nourish it, lose it or reinvent it.

Her images leave almost unlimited freedom as fragments that can be moved, cut up, edited, substituted for each other. Here, what makes the story is precisely what is not in the image, what the viewer will add, will imagine. In Elise Toïdé’s isolated photos, the narrative is therefore only plausible.

Les vagues is the first volume of the trilogy initiated by EYD and inspired by Elise Toïdé. This project brings together three concomitant series exploring both the fragility of living beings and their resilience in a hostile world.
