Les belles images

On the occasion of the carte blanche given by the MEP to multimedia artist Thomas Mailaender, granting him his first major retrospective in Paris, RVB BOOKS is teaming up with the Parisian institution to publish the catalog for the exhibition «LES BELLES IMAGES».

In line with the exhibition’s innovative approach that moves away from traditional graphic and visual displays, the artist has chosen an original form and content for the exhibition book. The two collections of images he has compiled (photographs and 3D views) allow readers to explore the works within the context of his studio, while they are being created, and take part in a deliberately low-tech virtual tour of the exhibition.

Texts for this publication are authored by art historian Luce Lebart and Simon Baker, Director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie and curator of the exhibition.
