“The Fashion Moda Gallery, located at 2803 Third Avenue, a particularly dangerous area of the South Bronx, offered me the opportunity to do a project on a very short notice that had something to do with the neighborhood.

Between Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 14, 1980, I approached passers-by or visitors and asked them to take me wherever they wanted to go in the Bronx. And preferably to a place they would never forget, if they could ever leave.

The night before the opening, I pinned the photos and texts to the wall. During the night, an unexpected and providential collaborator broke into the gallery and covered it, from floor to ceiling, with graffiti.”
