A missing link between John Baldessari’s The back of all trucks passed while driving from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara and Claude Closky’s Auchan, l’alphabet des marques, Éric Tabuchi pushes the burlesque or compulsive logics of his pieces in an almost derisory quest for what could constitute his Danish and Japanese origins. Through language (Alphabet) and displacement (Trucks), Alphabet Truck thus questions, beyond its formal and referential aspect, the notions of belonging, identity and mixity.
