DEATH IN THE MAKING
Death in the Making covers, through images and texts by renowned photographer Robert Capa, the first year of the Spanish Civil War and testifies to his commitment to one of the greatest struggles for democracy.
Published for the first time by Capa, at the age of 24, Death in the Making brings together his works, those of Gerda Taro, the German photojournalist killed on the Spanish front in July 1937, and Polish photographer, Chim (David Seymour).
This new edition remains faithful to that of 1938, with an original layout by André Kertész and a preface by American journalist, Jay Allen. Produced using new scans of original prints and negatives, it is augmented by a new historical essay and an exhaustive inventory of images, including the previously unacknowledged contribution by Chim.
Translated from the English by Sylvie Schneiter.
