The Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi (1972), known for her images in soft, luminous colours, strives to reveal the mystery, fragility and strength of life in all its forms. Well-known in France since her exhibition at the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain in 2005, her work is included in numerous public and private collections around the world. Her work was presented at the Rencontres d’Arles as part of the ‘Japanese Women Photographers’ exhibition in 2024.
Attaching great importance to books, she has published around twenty works. M/E is the fifth to be published in France.
