Born in 1947 in Brussels, Vanden Eeckhoudt shows his photographs of animals to Robert Delpire who publishes them in his first book Zoologies in 1982. Delpire later publishes two more books of his photographs, Doux-Amer and Duo. He became a member of Agence Vu from its founding in 1986. Coming from a reportage tradition, he began working with the press before turning to more personal subjects, in particular dogs and their relationship with their master. Full of humor but never anecdotal, Vanden Eeckhoudt’s photographs are elegant and pure, sometimes eliciting a smile, sometimes a real question. Michel Vanden Eeckhoudt died at the age of 67 in March 2015.
