Barbara Iweins (1974) is a Belgian photographer who began her artistic career in Amsterdam. Influenced by the work of Sophie Calle and fascinated by the vulnerability of humans, she spends her time pushing the boundaries of intimacy: in her series Au coin de ma rue, she gradually entered the private lives of strangers; in her 7AM/7PM project, she invites these same strangers to sleep over in her home to capture the innocence and fragility as they wake up. On her return to Brussels, she uses her private life as a case study for the first time in her project ‘Katalog’.
