Lartigue (1894-1986) learned photography from his father at the age of six. He photographs his childhood life and is passionate about the automobile, aviation and all the new inventions of the century. In 1915, he began to draw and paint and soon made painting his professional activity. In 1977, Robert Delpire devoted one of the first volumes in his history of photography series (with Nouvel Observateur) to the work of Lartigue.
