Beware

When the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris gave Ari Marcopoulos carte blanche to organize an exhibition around the acquisition of “Brown Bag”, a super-8 short film shot by Ari in New York in 1993, he selected works of art from the MAM collection and created a link with his own photographs. These include works by Robert Frank, Brassaï, César, Annette Messager, André Cadere, Christopher Wool and many others. For the opening of the exhibition, Serpent Press asked Ari to photograph his installation and publish a small catalog, with a print run of 150 copies.
