Superfacial

In Superfacial, French actress Audrey Tautou presents a personal photographic work developed alongside her film career, and already exhibited in part at the Rencontres de la photographie in Arles, in 2017. Audrey Tautou plays with her star status by exploring her image and staging herself. Through an initial series of portraits, controlling every aspect of her photos, she creates elaborate, humorous compositions that intentionally expose their artificiality. These photographic narratives construct an image aligned with her critical gaze, proposing an alternative vision of the actress. She also presents two other previously unpublished series: one composed of over 500 portraits of journalists taken during the promotion of her films over the years, and the other in which her gaze focuses on anonymous people photographed from behind, taken during her travels.

This unique collection mixes his photographic project with archival documents sent in by his fans and his authentic personal texts, far from the spotlight. The result is an interplay between the actress, the artist, her photographed subjects (including herself) and the reader.
