“Shortly before my exhibition À toi de faire, ma mignonne at the Musée Picasso in Paris, a storm caused damage to my storeroom and mold spores infiltrated my Les Aveugles series. The restorers decided it was best to destroy the works. But Les Aveugles had meant too much to me to end theirs in a landfill. I then thought back to an idea of the artist Roland Topor to bury an old sweater that he could neither give away nor throw away.” Sophie Calle

A special feature of this invaluable work is the inclusion of a pocket of in situ photographs that readers can position themselves. The special edition adds an additional pocket, with photographs taken after the performance during the exhibition in the cryptoporticoes of the Rencontres d’Arles 2024.
