When German artist David Helbich moved to Brussels, he was surprised by the bizarre and sometimes hilarious solutions he began to spot in his everyday environment. Most of the time, it wasn’t even a solution to a problem: illogically painted bicycle lanes, a jungle of contradictory road signs, misplaced house numbers, traffic detour signs leading nowhere… In 2006, he began photographing these zany situations, calling them Belgian Solutions. In 2008, he began sharing his photos on Facebook (the Belgian Solutions page now has over 34,000 fans), and before long, Belgian Solutions observers from all over the world began contributing their photos.

And as Helbich continues to make and receive the most original and funny Belgian Solutions photos, he has more than enough material for a second volume of his best-selling Belgian Solutions Volume 1.
