Initium Maris

With Initum Maris, the inaugural series in the Paysages productifs series, Nicolas Floc’h reveals the underwater landscapes of western France, from the coasts of Brittany to the Loire-Atlantique, and proposes to capture their state at a given moment in time.

The photographs, mostly in black and white, taken in natural light and using a wide-angle lens, provide a panoramic approach to the different types of landscape and the major coastal forests. Taken between 0 and 50 metres, they take us into the depths of life, as far as the eye can see.
