delpire & co is delighted to welcome André Chabot, Marie Quéau, Ambre Charpier and Sylvain Besson for a discussion on the book Collectionner les tombes, published by Editions Païen.
For some fifty years, artist and collector André Chabot has been compiling a meticulous inventory of tombs, sculptures, sepulchral chapels and other catacombs, photographed in over seventy countries. The result of a carte-blanche with artist-publisher Lia Pradal, Collectionner les tombes presents a subjective selection orchestrated from 45,000 photographs entrusted to André Chabot, in a work combining risography, silkscreen and offset printing. The book contains texts by Sylvain Besson (Director of Collections, Musée Nicéphore Niépce) and Ambre Charpier (art critic and researcher at the Sorbonne), as well as a visual essay by photographer Marie Quéau, immersing us in the artist’s studio flat.
