The bookshop is delighted to invite Marc Devillers, artist and poet, to read I say, I’m Jessica, a collection of poems recently published by Three Dice & Publication Studio Paris.
I say, I’m Jessica first gave rise to an installation on the occasion of ‘La fugitive’ exhibition at Crédac in 2022, based on a proposal by Ana Mendoza Aldana and Claire Le Restif.
Marcel Devillers’ practice combines the field of visual arts (sculpture, painting, collage) with that of poetry and performance.
His work is regularly presented in group and solo exhibitions in galleries, art centers and artist run-spaces (Le Crédac, galerie Valeria Cetraro, Les Bains-Douches d’Alençon, Frac Normandie Caen..), he also gives readings of his poems and performances during which he sometimes activates his sculptures (galerie Air de Paris, Palais de Tokyo, Fondation Ricard…). His books “La note salée du désir” and “Cette nuit je dors” were published in 2017 and 2019 by Les Bains-Douches d’Alençon and Zéro2 éditions.
Marcel Devillers also creates audio works; in 2022, he participated in the reactivation of John Giorno’s Dial-A-Poem (poems broadcast over the phone) and in 2023, he produced “Le corps imaginal”, a podcast in collaboration with the DJ and musician Nils Maisonneuve broadcast by the platform “Fréquence Frac” of the Frac Corse.
