Born in 1910, Gerda Taro was a German photographer. She died tragically in 1937 while covering the Spanish Civil War with her companion Robert Capa. Her work, long under-appreciated and sometimes attributed to Robert Capa, has been recognized only recently, with the rediscovery of a large group of her negatives in 2007.
