Following the publication of her first – sold-out – volume of Parallel Encyclopedia in 2007, Swiss artist Batia Suter released in 2016 the second part of this very special encyclopedia. Continuously exploring the different meanings of found images placed in various contexts, the artist constructs a visual language both personal and new.

Like the first book, this publication is reminiscent of Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne and its themed classification system. Here as well, the profusion of images doesn’t stop them from connecting and responding to each other naturally and beautifully, leaving the viewer in awe.
