Since 2020, Sam Stourdzé has been Director of the Académie de France à Rome – Villa Médicis, of which he is a former resident.
A specialist in contemporary images and the relationship between art, photography and cinema, he was director of the Musée de l’Élysée in Lausanne, Switzerland (2010 – 2014) and of the Rencontres d’Arles (2014 – 2020).
