This extremely complete retrospective of Josef Koudelka’s work is interspersed with a range of different points of view about it, contributed by Robert Delpire, Dominique Eddé, Michel Frizot, Anna Fàrovà, Petr Kral, Otomar Krejca, Pierre Soulages and Gilles Tiberghien.

The book is comprised of different stages of the photographer’s work, showing the constant progression in intensity: from his earliest work to his theatre photographs, his images of gypsies, the invasion of Prague in 1968 and the Exiles series, all the way to his most recent panoramas.
