Les photographies de Rivers & Towns, le nouveau livre Mark Steinmetz ont été réalisées dans les années 80 dans les villes et cités ouvrières du Connecticut, aux Etats-Unis.

“The brooding factories and mills built alongside rivers had seen their heyday and were beginning to decline. I was moved by these places and wanted to describe the bridges, houses, and streets, and to show something of people’s inner lives. At the same time, I was trying to discover myself as a photographer.”
